Holy Week 2011

The reason why I wanted to post some snapshots of what I and these kids below did during the last Holy Week is to treasure the "last" Holy Week I'll spend with them as a single lady. *insert a sentimental song here*

Since I have to work on Holy Monday to Holy Wednesday, we only spent Maundy Thursday - Easter Sunday together. We did Visita Iglesia on the night of Maundy Thursday after the Mass of Washing of the Feet. We visited 7 Churches around Noveleta-Cavite City area. Unfortunately, I only thought of posting it here in my blog when we were already on our last stop: San Sebastian College - Recoletos de Cavite.

Of course, you can't help but to feel nostalgic. :p
I looked around my Alma Mater and nothing seemed to change alot.
After saying a little prayer to Papa Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, we went out and had ice cream. :)

The next day, which I think was the holiest day of 2011, I and Moi went to the Church just before 3PM. We attended the Ceremony of kissing of the Holy Cross and Anointing of the Holy Oil for healing.  We also received the Holy Communion except for Moi who haven't had his First Communion yet.

People line up to kiss the Holy Cross of our Lord on this Holy Hour of Good Friday afternoon.
We also joined the Procession after.

Black Saturday was just a quiet day in our house though I, my aunt and my mom were busy preparing for the next day's feast (Easter Sunday).  On the night of this Black Satutday, I and Moi went to Church to attend the Easter Vigil since mom was there to serve as an usherette. Moi was delighted to see how the the bonfire was lit.

It was still dark when we went to the place. Then our priest read some Bible readings. Then he signaled the people hidden at the top of the Church's facade through his flashlight to light up the small piece of cloth or wood (I guess). They did it and they slid it through a thin rope that will fall directly on the bonfire's woods. Right then and there, the fire started and grew fast, enough to light up the Church's ground.

After some more readings and lighting and praying of/with the Paschal Candle, all headed inside the Church.

...However, we needed to go home even before the Easter Vigil was not yet finished. Mom's head ached too much that she needed to take her pills and rest.

I'll tell you what I did next before I called it a night.. on my next entry. :D
